Ma’ayanot Hosts Annual Day of Big Ideas

On Monday, January 2, more than 100 parents, grandparents, students, alumnae, and members of the community began the new year by exploring a wide array of topics presented by Ma’ayanot’s dynamic faculty at the school’s Annual Day of Big Ideas. The keynote address was presented by Dr. Leah Knapp, a clinical psychologist and teacher of Psychology at Ma’ayanot.

Ma’ayanot Commemorates Yom Hashoa

On Monday, April 24, Yom Hashoa was commemorated at Ma’ayanot with a candle lighting ceremony, tefillah, poetry readings, a choir performance, and a kumsitz in which many faculty members and students shared personal stories to honor survivors and remember family members who perished during the Holocaust. Mrs. Frida Hershkovits, a 90-year old survivor of Auschwitz who emigrated to Israel and the United States, shared her story of survival,

Ma’ayanot Book Day Commemorates the Legacy of Elie Wiesel

On Thursday, March 16, Ma’ayanot dedicated a full day of learning and reflection to honor the legacy of Holocaust survivor, author, scholar, and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel, who passed away on July 2, 2016 at the age of 87.
