Director of Religious Programming: Rabbi Zev Prince
Ma’ayanot is based on a commitment to helping our students develop as thoughtful, reflective ovdot Hashem. Our Judaic Studies faculty is devoted to fostering serious thought and dialogue about Torah both in and out of the classroom. For example, Ma’ayanot has a Judaic Studies blog, called Why-aanot, which provides a wonderful forum for students and teachers to exchange questions and thoughts about any Jewish topics that they wish to discuss. Additionally, students can sign up for Why-aanot Live, a program in which students meet individually with a faculty member to discuss any questions or ideas within Judaism that the student would like to explore. Throughout the year, there are also panel discussions which focus on particular topics that are important in our students’ lives. Students have the opportunity to submit questions ahead of time, which are then discussed by the faculty members on the panel, who represent a range of approaches to points of hashkafa. Torah Guidance at Ma’ayanot is an ongoing, dynamic endeavor, which seeks to create a culture of dialogue and reflection in order to develop a deep, thoughtful commitment to the Torah and to avodat Hashem.
