Mrs. Merav Tal-Timen, who was born and raised in Israel, earned a B.A. in Education from the David Yellin College for Education in Jerusalem and taught in several Israeli schools before coming to the United States. She joined the Ma’ayanot faculty in 1998, and currently serves as Chair of the Hebrew department, teaches Hebrew Language and Literature, serves as an advisor to the Israel Awareness Committee, and directs the Kochav Nolad Competition, which brings Israeli songs and poetry to our student body. Through her teaching Mrs. Tal-Timen strives to promote a love for and devotion to the Hebrew language and the land of Israel.

Mrs. Sari Meir teaches Hebrew language. She holds a B.A. in Social Work from Bar-Ilan University and is in the process of completing her M.A. at Hebrew University. Prior to coming to Ma'ayanot she worked as the Director of the Bat Melech Shelter for Battered Religious Women. Mrs. Meir’s approach to education is creative and student-centered, and she works hard to imbue within our students both a love of the Hebrew language and an appreciation for Israeli culture.

Mrs. Sara Rotenstein is a member of the Hebrew department. She has a B.A. in Tanakh and a teaching certificate from Bar-Ilan University. She has also participated in numerous training programs, including Shoah Teaching Alternatives in Jewish Education (STAJE) and Continuing Holocaust Education for Teachers and Principals. Prior to joining our faculty, she taught at S.K.A. High School for Girls for twelve years, at Shulamith School for Girls for twenty years, and at Yeshiva University High School for Girls as well. Over the course of her career, Mrs. Rotenstein has taught classes in Hebrew, Tanakh, Dinim, Hashkafa, and Jewish History, and she has prepared students for the B.J.E. entrance exam, Hidon HaTanakh, and Behina Yerushalmit.
