Mrs. Eileen Schwartz, a.k.a. "Coach," has served as Ma'ayanot's Athletic Director since 1997. She teaches tenth grade Health and numerous Physical Education classes, she serves as a twelfth grade mehanekhet, and she directs our many athletic teams, including tennis, soccer, swim, track, softball, basketball, hockey and volleyball. Mrs. Schwartz earned a B.S. in Health and Physcial Education at William Paterson College and is also certified as a personal trainer. She is also an active member of AAHPERD (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) and NASPE (National Association for Sport and Physical Education).

Ms. Marta Baez is a member of our Physical Education department. She was born and raised in Argentina, where she earned a B.A. in Physical Education and taught physical education to students in elementary school, middle school, and high school. In the United States, she studied Health Education at Montclair State University and achieved New Jersey State Certification in Health and Physical Education. Prior to joining the Ma'ayanot faculty, Ms. Baez taught physical education for seven years in the public school systems in Jersey City and Hoboken. In addition to teaching at Ma'ayanot, Marta works as a personal trainer and as an instructor of aerobics and zumba, and she belongs to the Teaneck Women’s Soccer League. Marta’s success with our students stems from her enthusiasm for athletics, which is nothing short of contagious.

Mrs. Shoshana Genack teaches a twelfth grade Nutrition elective. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Stern College and an M.S. in Nutrition and Food Science from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education. In addition to teaching at Ma'ayanot, Mrs. Genack is the Chief Clinical Dietician at Wayne Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Her previous positions include serving as a Dietetic Intern at Montefiore Medical Center and as the Special Diet Coordinator at Camp HASC. She has created a course that will provide an overview of nutrition science through units about the gastrointestinal tract, metabolism, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and other topics.
